NORMAL OPERATION
Depending on pump and rod sizes, normal well effluent will
come from the bleeder valve when it is opened. With a pump plunger
larger in diameter than the polished rod, the maximum flow will be on
the upstroke. With a pump plunger smaller in diameter than the polished
rod, the maximum flow will be on the downstroke. The load on the unit
should be equal on the upstroke and the downstroke, with little polished
rod vibration.
